Arizona’s OHV decal applies to qualifying vehicles designed primarily for unimproved terrain with an
unladen weight of 2,500 lbs or less. The state decal fee is currently $25 per year.
Required safety course
Beginning January 1, 2025, at least one owner (or a representative of an organization) must complete Arizona’s
Safe & Ethical Riding in Arizona course as required for OHV registrations/renewals during the current statutory implementation period.
The course is completed one time, regardless of how many OHVs the owner has.
Choose how the vehicle will be used
Exclusively off-highway
Title, plate and OHV decal, but not registered for on-road use.
On-road use
Primarily off-highway or primarily on-highway vehicles can be registered for street use when the owner certifies the vehicle meets applicable equipment requirements. Insurance rules apply.
Primarily off-highway registration currently receives a reduced $3 VLT and no standard registration fee, in addition to the OHV decal requirements.
